Skyline High. Calculus the Musical!

Have you seen it? MathHappens was happy to support a San Francisco Bay Area stop for Matheatre’s Calculus the Musical.

Xiaojie Zhang teaches calculus at Skyline High School in Oakland, California.  It was because of Ms. Zhang’s enthusiasm (and a few speedy emails to her principal’s office) that Matheatre could make Skyline High a special stop on their 2020 tour.

More than 200 math and drama students got to see the performance. Sadie Bowman and Ricky Coates* were great… their storytelling, humor and catchy songs made the calculus concepts and performance unforgettable.

And the feedback form says:

“Calculus: The Musical is wonderful! My students loved this show and actors did a great job! Thank you!”

MathHappens Foundation is pleased to announce that we are sponsoring some shows in New Jersey this spring!

* Ricky Coates seen here as Sir Isaac Newton.
