On Saturday, Mardi Nott presented about math field trips with MathHappens at the AACTM Winter Conference. AACTM stands for Austin Area Council of Teacher of Mathematics, which is affiliated with the National Council of Teacher of Mathematics (NCTM). Our presentation slides are available here.

Mardi presented about field trips she has done to the Austin Nature and Science Center, Harry Ransom Center, and The Bullock Texas State History Museum. All field trips were developed with MathHappens and involved a contextual usage of math.
As a result of this presentation, educators were excited to try out their own field trip with MathHappens in the future, including developing a field trip for elementary school students! Thanks to AACTM for welcoming us at their conference and to Mardi for representing MathHappens and being a constant supporter.
